The Agape Way Team is excited to share the latest updates from Pastor Phearum’s Soccer Ministry, a vibrant outreach that has been transforming young lives through sport and faith since 2014. Your prayers and generosity continue to fuel this work, bringing hope and the Gospel to our communities.

Scoring Goals for Faith and Community

Phearum’s Soccer Ministry now supports four dynamic teams—two boys’ teams and two girls’ teams, each with approximately 20 players aged 13–17, drawn from three primary schools, one junior high school, and two high schools. They train every Saturday and Sunday afternoon, totaling eight practices a month, and compete against other teams every two weeks, with occasional back-to-back Sunday matches. Before Saturday practices, players gather for a Bible class studying First Steps, nurturing their faith alongside their love for soccer

Stories from the Pitch

• Ny Panha, a 15-year-old in grade 8, joined the team for the fun and health benefits of soccer. He says it keeps him fit, sharpens his mind, and expands his knowledge.
• Phorchai, a girl supported by Agape Way, finds pure joy in soccer. It’s her only hobby and sport, and she loves playing with friends, bringing happiness to her days.

• Pastor Kouy’s Meeting Place: The rainy season has brought heavy rain, and Pastor Kouy’s meeting place is leaking due to a torn roof. We urgently need $250 to install a zinc roof, four fans, and an electricity line to make the space usable for worship and ministry.
• Coach Piseth: Please pray for Piseth as he leads with passion. We’re seeking $50 a month to support his work and another $50 for match expenses, including gas and field rentals.
• Pastor Paul, who urgently needs a motorbike ($2500) to attend Bible school and continue his ministry work in Battambang.
• Players’ Faith: Pray for our players to encounter the Lord through this ministry, growing in faith and staying protected from negative influences, such as drugs.
• Connecting with Our Last Update (June 4, 2025): In our previous newsletter, we shared how Agape Way is fostering hope through Pastor Say Yon’s work with students, Paul’s vibrant worship community in Battambang, and Frank and Anna’s divine encounters in California. Just as those efforts highlighted God’s work in opening hearts—whether through education or unexpected Gospel conversations—our Soccer Ministry is reaching youth with purpose and faith. Like Sievlan, Eisa, and Jakim, who dream of serving their communities, our soccer players are discovering Christ through sport. Please pray for continued support for our broader needs: student sponsorships ($30/month for primary and middle school, $90/month for high school), pastors’ support ($100/month), and Phearum’s church building fund ($16,000 raised, $24,000 needed).
