Faithfulness in Cambodia — Stories of Hope, Need, and God’s Provision

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

Warm greetings from Sisophon, Cambodia. Mrs. Hsu (Esther) and I are deeply grateful for your prayers as we continue the mission God has entrusted to us. Over the past week, we have witnessed God’s faithfulness in every village, every church, and every young leader we’ve met.

🌟 A Faithful Servant: The Story of Pastor Khuy

One leader especially touched our hearts — Pastor Khuy. After our visit to his church in the village, we invited him and his wife to lunch, and over a simple meal he shared his story with humility and joy.

For over 20 years, he has poured his life into ministry:

  • 15 years as a volunteer youth minister
  • 5 years managing a dorm for 32 students
  • Leading two churches every Sunday — one in the city in the morning, and another 50 kilometers away in the afternoon

He and his family live in the dorm with the students. While other dorms charge $50 a month, his charges only $5 — just enough to cover water and utilities. Twice a week, he leads devotions for the students and brings them to church in Sisophon.

“God will never let us die. He has always provided what we need.”

His vision is to start a cashew farm to provide jobs and income for his congregation, helping the ministry become financially independent. This aligns with Agape Way’s mission to help Cambodian churches grow holistically.

🌱 Training the Next Generation

Our primary purpose in Sisophon is to conduct a four-day ministry training for 30 students and their leaders. They are absorbing every lesson on children’s ministry, storytelling, and evangelism.

🚐 Visiting Rural Churches

Between sessions, we traveled with Pastor Phearum along bumpy roads to visit remote villages. We met single mothers, children sitting on the ground to hear God’s Word, and tireless pastors. Their worship is full of joy.
