A Vision That Cannot Wait — Help Us Reach Cambodia’s Youth

A Vision That Cannot Wait

閱讀中文版

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

In just 10 days, Esther and I will begin our journey to Cambodia—a trip we have prayed over for months and one that now feels unmistakably appointed by the Lord. After waiting through border uncertainties and delays, God has opened the way at the perfect time, and our hearts are filled with excitement and anticipation for what He will do through us as we go.

“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations…” — Matthew 28:19

This call fuels our steps, guides our preparations, and strengthens our resolve to encourage, equip, and uplift pastors, the young leaders and families we will meet. We pray this trip will bear fruit far beyond anything we can see now, and we are grateful to have you standing with us as partners in the gospel.

Below, we’re excited to share an opportunity God has placed before us and the latest details about our upcoming trip. Thank you for taking a moment to read, pray, and consider how God may lead you to participate.

A Vision That Cannot Wait: Build the Soccer Field

Recently Pastor Phearum shared with us his vision about purchasing two hectares of land behind the church to build a ministry soccer field—a place for youth to train, compete, grow in discipleship, and hear the gospel.

Because of regional instability, land prices have dropped dramatically, creating an unexpected window to secure two hectares for $30,000 plus $10,000 for construction and other costs (Total: $40,000).

Why This Field Matters

Six youth teams currently meet weekly for devotions, Scripture memory, and practice. Renting fields each week costs $100. There are six schools near the church, and a permanent field becomes a stable and long-term ministry hub for outreach and discipleship.

March Training Trip: Equipping Young Leaders

After months of prayer and navigating border difficulties, doors have finally opened for our March trip. We originally planned to go in January but waited until it was safe and possible—trusting God’s timing. Now the path is clear, and we are eager to begin.

This moment matters.

In-person encouragement now will strengthen youth leaders who have carried heavy loads with limited support. We will train and mentor young leaders, visit churches and families, and help rebuild community momentum through shared meals and ministry.

Esther in particular has carried a deep burden for these youth since reading about them in our 2024 newsletter. She began assisting our online English classes in November and has already met some of the students and youth leaders virtually. With her background as a pastor’s wife and years of experience training young people to lead worship and share the gospel with children, she feels called to pour into this next generation.

Travel Plan (Lord willing):

  • March 4: Depart for Taipei
  • March 7: Arrive in Siem Reap
  • March 7–12: Serve in Sisophon
  • March 13–15: Serve in Pailin
  • March 16: Travel to Phnom Penh, then depart

The total need is $5,000. This includes our trip and lodging, rice or bread for the families we visit, and meals for the youth leaders we train.

Please Pray With Us:

  • Safe border crossings and travel connections
  • Strength, health, and protection for ministry visits
  • Fresh encouragement for youth leaders and their pastors
  • Provision for trip costs and ministry needs
